URGENT CALL TO YPLOG MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS

LIBERAL’S MINING BILL

PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY 3rd JULY AND THURSDAY 4th JULY

PLEASE JOIN US AT PARLIAMENT HOUSE TO SHOW OUR CONTINUED OPPOSITION TO THIS UNJUST BILL

DAY AND TIME OF ATTENDANCE   –  TO BE CONFIRMED

Because the House of Assembly program does not list a starting time for the Mining Bill debate it is uncertain at this stage when (or even if) it will commence on Wednesday or be held over until Thursday.  We will confirm final details of time and day of attendance at Parliament House as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please be ready to come and join us once those arrangements are finalised.

YOUR ATTENDANCE IS VITAL

Since this disastrous Mining Bill was released in August 2018, the Liberal Government has stubbornly ignored calls for greater protection for agricultural land and farmers’ rights. Despite continuing opposition from GPSA, YPLOG and landowners across the state, the Libs have refused to overhaul the Bill or to establish a new, independent review into the Mining Act.

He’s still there

Until just weeks ago, it seemed the Bill would be shelved because the Libs had been unable to resolve the impasse with farmers.  Now, the Minister seems to have acceded to pressure from the Labor opposition to bring the Bill back into Parliament.

We cannot let this inequitable Bill pass without a final attempt to stop it.

We need a show of force in Parliament to express our anger at the Liberal’s betrayal of farmers and to support Fraser Ellis and his three colleagues – Steve Murray, Dan Cregan and Nick McBride – in their continuing fight for greater protection for agricultural land.

When the Bill was first debated on 27th November last year, over 70 farmers and supporters packed the House of Assembly’s public gallery. WE NEED TO EXCEED THAT NUMBER THIS TIME!   PLEASE COME YOURSELVES  and ENCOURAGE YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, NEIGHBOURS AND OTHERS TO ATTEND.
