URGENT TO YPLOG MEMBERS By now most of you would have heard that the State Government has approved Rex Minerals’ Mining Lease Proposal for Hillside. While this is devastating news, it was not unexpected. Nor does it mean the mine will proceed. Rex have still not got all the finances needed to start the mine. They still have to get their operational licence. But most importantly, they have not yet acquired all the land. Key farmers are still holding out against them and these families need our continued support in their battle with the mining company. WE MUST KEEP FIGHTING! WE HAVE THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO EXPRESS OUR ANGER AT MINISTER KOUTSANTIS’ DECISION THIS SATURDAY. PLEASE ATTEND THE STATE-WIDE RALLY IN ADELAIDE AND LET THE GOVERNMENT AND THE OPPOSITION KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS APPALLING DECISION. We are not fighting this battle alone. We now have the support of farming groups and residents from right across SA. We must let politicians know that they cannot walk all over the rights of farmers and local residents of Yorke Peninsula!
